I can’t help but wonder if Dr. Seuss found inspiration in Namibia’s quiver trees. Each tree in the quiver tree forest seems to have its own wonderfully strange personality. This tree is highly adapted to the Namib desert and very useful. The tubular, porous branches are easily hollowed out—making the perfect quiver for a bushman’s arrows. Photo by @kengeiger by natgeo
